Start monitoring agent on boot – sd-agent 1.2.3

We have just released an init.d script for the Server Density monitoring agent, sd-agent. Once installed, the agent will be automatically started if your system reboots.

The script is for Linux only and is available as sd-agent.init within the sd-agent distribution package. It is also available through the update mechanism.

In order to use this script you will first need to update your agent to version 1.2.3 and then follow the installation instructions here.

Note that if you wish to use this script you must stop the agent first and then start it using the init.d script. Using the script will also force the agent to run as root and move the PID file from /tmp/sd-agent.pid to /var/run/sd-agent.pid.

If you have any questions or problems, feel free to get in touch.
