Network traffic monitoring – sd-agent 1.2.0

July 1, 2009

We have just released v1.2.0 of sd-agent, the monitoring agent for our server monitoring service, Server Density. This release includes a new metric – network traffic – and fixes a bug with disk usage checking which will cause the agent to crash if the volume name cause a line wrap.

The new metric includes transmit and receive bandwidth statistics (in MB) for all interfaces and is available only to paid account holders. It records the total data transferred (as provided by the system) at each data sample point and calculates the difference between the two to give you the total data transferred for the time period between.

Agent upgrade instructions can be found in the documentation.

View screenshots of the reporting interface and server snapshot interface with the new metric.
