Invoice e-mails

May 26, 2009

We’re currently doing the final testing for our customer invoicing system to allow us to start charging for our first product, Server Density, a server monitoring application.

Unfortunately, whilst testing on live data, a bug arose which has resulted in an invoice e-mail being sent to all users. Needless to say, that bug has now been fixed but I would like to apologise for this spam.

We are still in beta and so no user has provided any payment details, and of course no user is going to be charged without their permission. All invoices e-mailed were for £0.00.

The live system has a number of safeguards to allow us to audit payment processing. For example, payment is taken 14 days after the invoice is sent to allow for any errors or problems to be picked up. We also receive summaries of all invoices sent to allow us to cross-check these against what we were expecting.

Again, I would like to apologise for this; the safeguards in place will be adjusted as a result. If you have any questions, please contact us.
